2nd Line Field Support Engineer – Nationwide

This is an excellent opportunity for an 2nd Line Field Support Engineer to join a rapidly growing organisation.

Working in parallel with the internal IT department, you will provide IT Field Support in accordance with ITIL best practice. This will include installing PC and network devices, wired and wireless. You must be able to work in both an onsite, and remote capacity as required across multiple UK locations.

Key responsibilities as a 2nd Line Field Support Engineer

  • Carry out installations and configurations of IT equipment as requested by Service Desk Manager and complete all relevant documentation
  • Ubiquiti Network Equipment PC & Laptop builds required for installation (as required)
  • Successfully diagnose and troubleshoot network equipment, hardware and software issues
  • Periodic overnight travel will be required as install locations are across the UK
  • Complete all assigned duties in a safe and responsible manner and act as an ambassador for the organisation
  • To take ownership of user problems, perform a technical diagnosis and fix the issue either remotely or on-site

All candidates should have a minimum of 18 months proven recent experience in a similar field based technical role. We require a confident individual with excellent customer service skills including effective listening, patience, empathy and diplomacy as well as being an enthusiastic, self-motivated team player with strong communication skills.

Candidates must have experience administering, managing, maintaining and troubleshooting the following technologies:

  • Windows 10
  • Networking experience (LAN, WAN, Wi-Fi)
  • Sophos
  • Active Directory
  • Office 365

A good and broad understanding of the following is also desirable:

  • Ubiquiti Unifi Networks
  • DHCP
  • DNS
  • Android / iOS awareness
  • Remote Access tools such as Bomgar
  • Software Asset Management
  • Event Management
  • Patch Management & security
