Dallas Street in the Midlands was an exciting project for us as it was a new build property. The scheme was developed in partnership with Nottinghamshire County Council, under a full nomination agreement with the Registered Provider, and gave us the opportunity to create new ‘whole life’ homes from the ground up.
Our vision for this project was to create a home comprising 15 self-contained apartments, with a range of good quality fixtures in an accessible location.
Constructing Dallas Street
Work began on Dallas Street in 2016. After laying the foundations, we set to work on creating this new building, constructing a home that could provide comfortable, safe and secure surroundings for new residents.
With electrics, heating and plumbing installed, we fitted kitchens and bathrooms, along with specialist equipment to ensure the property could cater for each resident.
Building a home at Dallas Street
Now complete, Dallas Street comprises 15 self-contained apartments which provide homes for people with diverse and complex needs. This includes people with learning disabilities, autism, brain injuries and mental ill-health.
Amongst the 15 apartments is a three-bed apartment, with full Disability Discrimination Act (DDA) compliance, including hoists to all rooms.
Dallas Street is situated near to local transport links and a mainline railway station, making it perfectly accessible for residents and is also located near to shops. Parking spaces are included to the rear of the property.
