It was a right Royal do on Tuesday 7th May, when Fairhome Group Executive Chairman, John Russell accompanied a group of business students to Buckingham Palace.
The students from Buxton Community School were finalists in the Tycoon Enterprise Competition, organised by the Peter Jones Foundation. A total of 389 teams entered the competition, but only eight made it through to the final at Buckingham Palace, including the team from Buxton.
Fairhome were more than happy to sponsor the students, to ensure they would be able to attend. In fact, John was so impressed with all the hard work put in by each pupil, he accompanied them down to London to show his support.
Prince Andrew, HRH Duke of York oversaw the final, alongside entrepreneur and Dragons’ Den star, Peter Jones CBE. AKS Lytham Independent School were crowned the overall winner of the competition, with their Bottle Boutique concept, but the Buxton students came 2nd in their category with their TAIBO concept.
Fairhome Group, Group Executive Chairman John Russell, said: “This was a fantastic day – and one to remember! The students of Buxton Community School are a credit to the school and a great example of all the hard work being undertaken by the current generation of students.”
“All of the teams that took part in the Tycoon Enterprise Competition should be incredibly proud of themselves. There are a lot of budding entrepreneurs out there!”
