Fairhome converts Cheshire farmhouse into new homes for adults with complex needs
A former farmhouse in Cheshire has been converted into new supported living homes for adults with complex needs.
The Elms near Nantwich has been transformed by Fairhome Group into new homes for six people who will be provided with 24/7 on site support.
The first residents moved into the scheme in September, and have their own private bedroom, living space, shower and toilet room – while sharing kitchen and dining space with other residents.
Specialist onsite care will be provided by 1st Enable, part of the Fairhome Care family of social care providers.
Staff are permanently on site to help residents, who have a range of physical and learning disabilities and mental health issues, with day to day living tasks.
Through 1st Enable’s Skills Centre, residents will also be able to enjoy access to a range of activities aimed at promoting independence and improving wellbeing.
The property enjoys a large garden area which customers will be able to use to look after chickens and grow their own fresh fruit and vegetables. Surrounding countryside will provide Elms residents with access to leisure opportunities such as nature walks.
Elms residents are also looking forward to starting a project to refurbish a static caravan in the property’s grounds.
Fairhome Group Executive Chairman John Russell said: “Working with 1st Enable we have designed and built a scheme which will meet the diverse needs of six vulnerable adults. People living at the Elms will enjoy their own private accommodation, while having access to shared spaces and comprehensive onsite support.
“The Elms is located in an attractive and quiet rural setting with lots of places nearby for clients to enjoy fresh air and walks.
“Through 1st Enable’s Skills Centre, they will also have opportunities to take part in learning and leisure activities which will make their life at the Elms meaningful and enjoyable.
“Residents will have access to the highest quality care and support at all times of day from 1st Enable’s qualified and experienced team. It’s a truly holistic service which takes care of the full range of clients’ support needs.”
Property management services at the Elms will be delivered by Leeds’ based registered provider Encircle Housing.
